Christmas is around the corner.
Now it is a great time of year for humans, stuffing ourselves silly with great food and enjoying good company.
This time of year needs to have a WARNING for pet owners.
Some of the food we serve is too rich to give to your pets. If you imagine giving them biscuits all year then all of a sudden some food with flavours that their stomach hasn’t learnt to deal with it would give them upset stomach, diarrhea or worse depending on what you feed them.
Mince Pies (definately NO) Christmas pudding (no way) both contain fruits that are poisonous, some even alcohol.
Its always nice to include your pets at Christmas but remember they arent humans and are quite delicate. So try and stick to their food as much as possible with the occassional left over slice of chicken, carrot, roastie and dollop of gravy.
Everything in moderation. If you overdid it you will find a nice pile of vomit soon after. No point in sugar coating anything – sorry guys.
On that note – Have a wonderful Christmas!! Keep everyone safe (both with and without paws)
I shall be back next week with – Surviving the cold for your pets
